The meeting of the round table in Kalavryta

On Wednesday, 3rd April, 2019 at the "Palaiologina Mansion", in the meeting of the round table, the Regional Network of the Kalavrita Pilot Region was established in the context of implementation of the European project "CI NOVATEC-Customer Intelligence for inNOVAtive Tourism Ecosystems" of the transnational programme Interreg Greece Italy 2014-2020.

The Region of Western Greece has designated three special pilot areas where Ancient Olympia, Kalavrita and Nafpaktos will gather the experience of the visitor. In each of the pilot areas, a cooperation statute will be signed in Round Table Meetings. The first in Ancient Olympia and the second in Kalavrita have already taken place, and in a short time it will also take place in Nafpaktos.

The meeting of the round table was attended by the Deputy Regional Governor of Regional Development and Entrepreneurship, the Municipality of Kalavrita, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Kalavrita, the Management Body of Chelmos-Vouraikos, the Cave of the Lakes Canyon and the "ACHAIA DEVELOPMENT AGENCY SA”.

About the project

The Region of Western Greece is the lead partner of the project in cooperation with two Greek partners, the University of Patras - Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Region of Epirus. Also, the project has two Italian partners the Region of Puglia - Department of Culture, Tourism and Soil Economics, and the Commercial Chamber of Bari. Partnering partners are the Chamber of Commerce of Achaia and the Chamber of Commerce of Brindisi.

The purpose of the project is to record and evaluate the visitors' experiences in relation to the services provided to them. The collection of data will be done through modern tools, such as mobile applications which will provide results through questionnaire forms. Then through the Client Intelligence Platform, we will categorize, analyze and extract useful conclusions.

Through the knowledge of the tourist-visitor's response, managers will be able to improve their organization, the small-medium sized businesses will be strengthened and finally the members of the Regional Networks will be able to prepare themselves through training seminars which will be held in the three pilot areas.
