International Olympic Academy

The International Olympic Academy is the facilities, owned by the Hellenic Olympic Committee, which are reported to be an area of Ancient Olympia’s Municipality and Iliia’s Western Region.

Those facilities are built near the Archeological Site of Olympia and holy Alti, on the slopes of Kronio’s hill, in a total green area which is about 400 acres. In the south, Alfios river is passing, east is Ancient Pisa and in west, there is Ancient Olympia.

They are officially listed as a settlement for the first time in 1971 in the then community of “Mirakas” with the name "Olympias", while in 2001 they were renamed to “International Olympic Academy”. International Olympic Academy facilities with Ancient Pisa constitute the local community of Ancient Pisa which belongs to the municipal unit of Ancient Olympia, of the Municipality of Ancient Olympia, according to the Kallikratis Plan. Also, according to the 2011 census, has a population of 2 residents.
