Waterfall of Saint Taxiarhis

Waterfall of Saint Taxiarhis

It is undoubtedly the most impressive miracle of nature of the village Ano Vlassia and a little known secret.

Unfortunately there are no signs, so someone has to show you the short road south of the village that will lead you to a source and a shrine. Behind the headwater, there is a mysterious and pitch dark cave (those with doing a rough exploration inside talk about amazing images and underground lakes!) And after you park, you will descend the steep slope with trees.

There you will see the source of the hum that sounds eerie as on the street: water from different directions mingle over a cave pierced the roof, falling violently in a dark pond and continue to join the Selinunte. The picture is breathtaking, and perhaps that is the fairies (who will certainly lived here) took the voice of the innocent villagers.

Undoubtedly from here passed Callisto and all the nymphs of Artemis and bathed naked in the shady coolness. From here he went Panas with its own ravishing escort drunk terrible wines of the region, and certainly here was once the habitat elf and creatures of innocent fantasy of the citizens of Ano Vlassia.
