Church of Saint Nikolaos

Very close to Ano Vlasia there is a steep hill drowned in the fir trees. At the top of it (altitude 1,180 m.) is the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos, which was probably built in the 10th century by hermits, (the traditions say that they came from Mount Athos together with their companions). The first monk even saw in his dream a divine vision that precisely defined the place on the fir-covered hill to build the monastery.
