Ladonas River

Ladonas river is located in Achaia and Arcadia. A tributary of Ladonas, is the river Alfeios. It is also one of the oldest, deified rivers of the Peloponnese ασ according to Greek mythology, Gods and mortals were fighting and meet there.

Greek mythology also states that Ladonas is the son of Tethys and Oceanus. Pausanias, after his visit to the river Ladonas, stated that it is the most beautiful river that has ever existed.

With a length of more than 60 km, it has many tributaries such as Paos and Alfeios. A river that was difficult to cross, especially during the summer months, due to the great force with which it gushes from sinkholes. Finally, the lagoon of the river Ladonas, is fed by an underground river.
